Open since December 2014, the restaurant Disfrutar (in English \u201cEnjoy\u201d) arose after years of intense work at elBulli, where Mateu Casa\u00f1as, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch met and trained professionally, and after reaffirming the work done at Compartir opened in April 2012 in Cadaqu\u00e9s.
\nLocated in the Eixample, just in front of the Ninot Market, the premises are also surprising due to their design. Respect for the history and legacy of the Mediterranean are the inspiration and ceramic is the common theme marking the interior. The entrance area is inspired by Barcelona, by the wrought iron of the Ninot Market and the colours of Mironian ceramics. The In Barcelona the gastronomic offer revolves around the tasting menu, with clearly avant-garde cuisine and where the dishes stand out for their great, markedly Mediterranean identity. \nThis restaurant is characterized by the inventive spirit of the three chefs at the helm (Eduard Xatruch, Oriol Castro and Mateu Casa\u00f1as), who have made creativity their watchword \u2013 clearly their time working alongside Ferran Adri\u00e0 at El Bulli made a real impression! What’s so special about this place? Firstly, the food itself is highly innovative, with the chefs playing with shapes, textures and flavors and exhibiting indisputable craftsmanship. In addition, a constant stream of innovations emerges from their laboratory, such as their \u201csolid bubbles\u201d or, even more remarkably, a \u201cliving table\u201d that changes as the meal progresses (the latter experience is by prior reservation only). It could be said that, despite the superb ingredients on display, you probably come here more to enjoy the extraordinary overall experience and to admire the incredible expertise of Disfrutar’s chefs. Choose between two tasting menus: Classic, featuring the restaurant’s signature dishes (such as the multi-spherical pesto with smoked eel and pistachios); and Festival, which showcases its latest seasonal creations.
