Gigi has always taught us the best, starting with choosing her home. His mountain chalet is no exception: it was in the snow-capped Val d’Isere retreat of Solez, on the other hand, that our whimsical Milanese dandy decided to set up his new residence. Here, at an altitude of 2551 meters above sea level, against the backdrop of the majestic nature of the Vanoise Park, the winter version of Alla grande life can fully manifest itself.
In this huge building of wood and stone, where a white panorama opens from every bay window, Gigi once again entrusted Hugo Toro with the task of creating decor to his (un)size.
At nightfall, 3 times a week, under the chandeliers of the XXL restaurant or by the travertine fireplace, a new transalpine feast is being prepared. The world below already seems far away when live music takes its place.
On the plate we find the basics of Italian cuisine, prepared according to the rules of the art, as well as generous “gratinati” for lovers of Alpine cheese, which can be enjoyed in the warm atmosphere of the internal restaurant.
Our dandy also likes to spend time outdoors. On his huge terrace, he launches “Mangiamo!” and here are beautiful tables set facing the mountains. We’re basking in the sun after a morning skiing, looking forward to Gigi’s signature dishes.
