Le Petit Celestin Paris
- French
La Mère Germaine in Villefranche-sur-Mer has been a key point on the Riviera since 1938.
In Villefranche-sur-Mer, we always strive to live up to the exclusivity of a place where living is a privilege.
"La Mère Germaine, a Michelin-starred restaurant, offers fresh fish, seafood and bouillabaisse prepared daily. On its terrace overlooking the sea, you can have lunch or dinner watching the dance of fishing boats, a stone's throw from the most prestigious yachts. People come here by sea and by land. In summer, Villefranche's harbour is dotted with pleasure boats flying all the flags, and you disembark in front of this French restaurant with joy and the prospect of a good meal."
* One Star: High quality cooking.
En route for the French Riviera, the movie stars of Paris, from Mistinguett to Jean Gabin and Fernandel, used to stop off in this village so beloved of wine buffs. The restaurant is still named after its 1922 founder, Germaine Vion. Huge murals depicting Belle Époque Paris, in the style of Toulouse-Lautrec, set the scene indoors and the patio commands a panoramic view. In this attractive location, Adrien Soro, who held a MICHELIN star at his Dordogne restaurant La Meynardie, serves up flavoursome Mediterranean cuisine, with a talent for elevating the ingredients and vegetables of Provence. The splendid wine list features a knock-out selection of Châteauneuf-du-Pape labels.
