Le Café Courchevel
- French, Gastronomic, International
The only restaurant in Marseille awarded three Michelin stars is located at the hotel of the same name right on the seashore. The restaurant and hotel is run by the Passeda family, and here you are guaranteed not only delicious cuisine, but also the comfort of a home.
Chef Gerald Passeda is a tireless creator and experimenter, and even the most ordinary dishes in his interpretation become a real revelation even for sophisticated gourmets. What you need to try is fish, Passed's favorite product, with which he works wonders.
The restaurant is located in a quiet seaside area, and it takes a long time to get to it, but it's worth it if only for the magnificent sea view that opens from the window from here.
The opinion of the MICHELIN Guide.
*** Three stars: unique cuisine.
Impossible to dissociate Le Petit Nice from its city, Marseille, and from the personality of Gérald Passedat. “In the Mediterranean, I dive in every sense of the word,” summarizes the chef. “It carries me and inspires me, as well as all the lands that surround it.” It is an understatement to say that he was inspired by the Mediterranean region (fruits, vegetables, cereals, fish, spices, etc.) to create his culinary identity. For example, there are more than sixty-five types of fish that parade through the kitchen, from sea bream to denti, including porgy, whiting, sarran, and even, sometimes, moray eels! Heir to a family of artists, former student of Alain Chapel, the Troisgros brothers and Michel Guérard, Gérald Passedat has kept his pleasure of cooking, surprising and moving people intact. Like a taste of calanques…
