Mun Munich

The MUN restaurant in Munich brings a taste of Asia to the heart of Europe. This is not a typical Asian restaurant, but a place where Chef Mama Kim can fully experiment with her creativity. The Korean-American gained experience in Argentina passing through New York City (he worked on Wall Street) and curates a menu that ranges from dim sum and sushi to his signature grilled octopus and other meat dishes. Format Works was responsible for the interior design of the restaurant, infusing different spaces with a variety of traditions.
The dining and living areas are designed to resemble an ancient Asian residence, with Japanese, Chinese and Korean details and decorations throughout. Gold and lacquer are ubiquitous, while natural materials including wood, cork and moss recreate a lantern garden in one corner of the restaurant. In Moon you feel far from the heart of Germany.
