Description
The Lorenzo restaurant was born first as a trattoria, then transformed into the most elegant restaurant in Forte Marmino, and today becomes the most renowned of these, boasting prestigious gastronomic awards.
The atmosphere is unique and you immediately understand that here, from the entrance to the kitchen to the last room, great order and professionalism reign. The environment is certainly refined, but at the same time sober, intimate and welcoming, the service is impeccable. Lorenzo always takes care of the orders personally, and the timeless preparations that make up the menu from time to time are also his.
Among these, the most famous and recommended are: baked sea bass cuttlefish au gratin with the scent of gentle garlic; the red mullet and escarole sandwich on green tomato gazpacho; shrimp croquettes; bavette sul fish (historical dish); trofie with cicada pulp; half paccheri with white fish ragout and seafood stew; the last batch of natural scampi opened in the oven – or steamed – with express mayonnaise. Also present on the menu are many land preparations, which are nevertheless characteristic, faithful to the territory and absolutely delicious.
MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View.
* One Star: High quality cooking
This gastronomic institution has been an emblem of the Versilia region for the past 40 years, offering unchanging quality ever since it opened in 1981. The baton is slowly passing now to daughter Chiara, an expert sommelier who, together with her staff, ensures that guests enjoy the best possible experience. Surrounded by contemporary works of art (a passion inherited from great-grandfather Lorenzo after whom the restaurant is named), guests are guaranteed a fine dining experience thanks to the excellent fish dishes (some of the best in Italy) as well as iconic dishes such as spaghetti alla versiliese and other delicacies on the three tasting menus (Cuori, Picche, Quadri). The wine cellar is also worthy of praise, with its two wine lists (one dedicated to Italy, the other to non-Italian wines) that will appeal to connoisseurs with their excellent vintages and renowned labels.
