The world is becoming increasingly aware of the original and seductive range of flavors that the country's pioneering chefs, winemakers, farmers and culinary experts represent in the international arena that has been waiting for these innovative flavors to emerge.
Under the auspices of Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen and his Michelin-starred restaurant JAN, a brand new concept awaits Europeans and the world in which friends from Jan Hendrik's homeland South Africa will join forces with JAN to present curated taste and sensory experience.
In the kitchen, four skillful hands will present a unique South African eight-course menu paired with the finest South African wines. The true flavors and flavors of this diverse country, rich in tradition and heritage with a modern, innovative spirit, will be brought to the table using the original culinary techniques for which its people are renowned.

Youthful South African Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, who worked as a chef on private yachts in Monaco and as a photojournalist for a well-known magazine, has already lived several lives… In his cosy, romantic eatery near the port, he signs creative, personal cuisine in the form of a single set menu without choices (five or seven courses), in which he plays on sweet and sour combinations, and dabbles in smoky, spicy and acidic flavours, giving us an insight into South African cuisine, which has found favour with a host of visitors to the French Riviera. To celebrate his tenth anniversary, chef Jan opened a cheese bar opposite his restaurant serving twenty different cheeses, a range of beverages, preserves and dried fruit. Guests are encouraged to change venue for the cheese, which further adds to the original experience.
